What is the difference between a tincture and a herbal extract?Tinctures are herbal extracts as they are one and the same. Organic alcohol issued in our tinctures to extract the healing properties and power from the herb which results in a concentrated and preserved product.
-
Can you give medical advice or recommendations?FDA regulations prohibit us from offering information on herbal actions, diagnoses or treatment. We follow the protocols of Stephen Buhner, and there are herbalists that can be found on his site.
-
What is this herb used for?Per the FDA we can not discuss uses of each herb. However, there is a vast wealth of information online if you google either the herb you are interested in, or what herbs work for what ails you.
-
How do you take a tinctures? While some tinctures or extracts may be mild tasting, many are unpleasant to the taste buds. We suggest you mix with water or juice if they taste unpleasant or overly strong. Often chasing them down with a glass of water will do the trick.
-
Should tinctures be refrigerated and how long do they last?Due to the alcohol content no refrigeration is needed and they will last up to five years opened or unopened. A cool dark place with help insures longevity.
-
Do you have a store front or conduct tours of your business? We do not have a store front and are not set up to do in person sales or tours. Please use the website to make orders and to contact us. We appreciate our customers and check our contacts constantly.

How many drops are in 1 dropperful?A 1 oz glass tincture bottle has a standard glass dropper that fits in it and when the dropper is full of tincture, that is what I call a dropperful. It generally hold around 30 drops, so I consider a dropperful to be 30 drops, or 1.5 ml. 1ml=20 drops 1 tsp= 5 ml = 100 drops

What's the difference between a Tincture and Glycerite? What makes these different is the method of extraction, or the base if you will. Tinctures/herbal extracts use alcohol as the base and Glycerites use vegetable glycerin. They both contain the same quality herb.
-
Are your Tinctures and Glycerites Gluten Free?We use gluten free alcohol and glycerin so all our extracts and glycerites are gluten free.

Why does a product that I often order sometimes look, taste, or smell different then last time?Color, taste, and smell will often change depending on what material was used in a batch and where that material was grown. Fresh and dry material also tastes different and varies on what time of year it is and exactly what mix of material was used. Change from fresh to dry happens depending on season and how available an herb is and where it came from and even how wet or dry the weather was when grown. Some products contain a mixture of roots and leaves which can create more or less sediment than previous batches. Color, taste, or smell can also change due to the part of the plant used. While sediment may look alarming it is part of the process with certain herbs more than others, and it is not spoiled or dangerous, it is organic matter that is also derived the same as the rest of the tincture.
